During March 2012 I broke my left arm (humerus) and damaged my radial nerve in a snowboarding accident. The arm was subjected to two operations and a second accident in the garden causing a further break in the shoulder area due to weakness caused by the operations. As a result my left arm had very little use for about 6 months before I was able to attend physiotherapy sessions. I attended physiotherapy with Kath Hamflett, where to begin with I was unable to straighten my elbow, use my shoulder properly and my left hand was dysfunctional due to nerve damage. Kath was highly effective in breaking down all the complex issues I had and innovatively working with me to improve the function of the arm across the three areas of shoulder, elbow and hand. Several months on and all the pain has gone, the elbow is straight, my shoulder has full movement and my hand works again.

Kath is an extremely professional, enthusiastic physiotherapist who will take a genuine interest in you as a person. I am looking forward to being on the snow again in the future. GH
