Sprains, strains & contusions
The commonest strain that physiotherapists treat is probably the ankle strain, but if you bend any joint the wrong way rapidly you will strain or sprain the joint and it will let you know about it! Sometimes you may not have been aware of straining the joint but been incorrectly diagnosed with a strain and it may well be that you have shifted the joint slightly so that it does not track correctly and this settles very quickly with the correct physiotherapy techniques. Or you may have crushed a part of the body in an accident and damaged a lot of the soft tissues which is known as a contusion. Physiotherapy treatment can help all these problems so the sooner you get to see a physiotherapist who will diagnose your particular problem, the sooner you will begin to improve.
