Overuse injuries

Overuse injuries are very painful and don't go away by themselves so will really benefit from treatment from a physiotherapist . The problem needs to properly diagnosed and then either the area is rested for about 3 days or possibly a steroid injection is used. Once the chronic inflamed state has eased then more active treatment can begin. This can involve appropriate physiotherapy techniques, modalities and an exercise regime which is progressed as necessary to regain the length and strength of the injured part and reintegrate the region back into the general movement of the body with the correct muscle timing. Physiotherapist Kath Hamflett at Barnt Green Physiotherapy has many years’ experience working with these types of problems.
